Our Story
YANA was born out of tragedy. Two local mothers took their own lives — leaving behind families, communities, and a question that demanded an answer: What if someone had been there?
Out of that grief came a determination to change the world, one mama at a time. YANA — You Are Not Alone — exists so that no mother has to face the hardest moments of motherhood without someone beside her.
What started as a grassroots peer support effort became an official nonprofit in May 2017, serving moms across the Denver Metro area through the Strong Mamas, Thriving Babies program.

We believe that when moms are supported, families thrive, and communities grow stronger. Our peer-to-peer model pairs experienced moms with those who need connection, creating bonds that last far beyond the first year of motherhood.
Strong Mamas, Thriving Babies
Our flagship program provides new and expecting mothers with a full year of wrap-around support after giving birth at a participating hospital. Moms are grouped with others who have children of similar ages and matched with an experienced Support Mama.
- Hospital-based enrollment at participating hospitals in the Denver Metro area
- One-on-one onboarding visit with a Support Mama
- In-person community gatherings throughout the year
- Personal quarterly check-in calls
- App-based connection and resource access
- Full 12 months of support post-birth
